The Halal Process

Halal slaughter is a carefully controlled series of steps that must be carefully planned and executed to meet strict standards of certification. This ensures that meat produced under these guidelines adheres to the necessary requirements which allow independent certification bodies to approve its Halal status.

Calm Handling

Animals are handled with care upon arrival at the processing facility. They are kept in a calm and stress-free environment to prioritize their welfare and ensure high meat quality.

Electronic Stunning

Before slaughter, animals are rendered unconscious using a reversible electronic stunning process. The stunning is compliant with approved guidelines and does not cause death.

Slaughter by Hand

The slaughter is performed exclusively by hand, never through mechanized means. A trained individual makes a single, swift knife cut across the throat, severing the carotid arteries, jugular vein, and trachea. Following this, the blood is drained completely, an essential step in meeting Halal requirements.

Ongoing Monitoring and Compliance

Each step in the process is continuously monitored to ensure compliance with approved standards. Facilities conducting Halal processing undergo regular inspections to maintain adherence to these guidelines and uphold the integrity of the method.
